Tactical Edge was originally designed as a method of
close combat for Special Forces. This meant it had to
be possible to use if you were exhausted after carrying
a huge load of kit over difficult ground for 50 miles,
or when the soldier was malnourished & exhausted
during escape & evasion. This means that it doesn't
require strength & high fitness levels to be effective.
Men or women can learn to be extremely effective using
Tactical Edge. It isn’t a “one size fits
all system”, we teach you to find your own way
& to employ things that work for you. Ultimately
we want you to think for yourself.
Mark Davies first started the forerunner to Tactical
Edge back in 1988. Since then it evolved constantly,
with Tactical Edge being founded in 1991.
The civilian version of Tactical Edge explores self
protection at all ranges of combat. We look at how attacks
REALLY occur & how we can take preventative methods,
& how we can defeat these scenarios.
The logos represent the progression of the way Mark
has developed the system. The first logo Mark no longer
has a copy of. The version with the dagger was to represent
the nature of Tactical Edge's unarmed & armed sides.
The logo with the skull & bowies which is still
in use was inspired by some of Jim Keatings drawings
of skulls. The latest evolution of the logo is to represent
Tactical Edge's origin as a method of close combat for
special forces.
